Winter Wonderland: Ideas for cold weather nature-based activities

Course Number
CS03: 13
Overview
When the freezing rain pours down, temperatures drop, and sharp winds bite, how do we get our children (and ourselves) excited to go outside? We'll explore fun outdoor activities in a variety of "challenging" weather conditions, troubleshooting ideas and gear suggestions for both staff and teachers. Let's find ways to change "bad" weather into exciting and fun learning opportunities!
Objective
Participants will:
-Explore equity ideas and how to make the winter play accessible for all.
-Gain ideas for reducing stress around winter weather.
-Engage in winter play activities and curriculum.
-Discuss how to make safety decisions about going outside in winter.
